Jeffrey Shogan, MD, is Director of Business Services and Chief Business Officer for UPMC Cancer Centers. He also serves as a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Shogan received his bachelor's degree in Philosophy/Psychology from Yale University in 1975, whereupon he spent two years in the Peace Corps and two in Lagos, Nigeria, with Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982. Dr. Shogan completed his internship and residency at UPMC Presbyterian and did a fellowship at the Duke University Medical Center.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Shogan was the co-managing partner of Oncology Hematology Association (OHA) and the director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He also has held teaching positions at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann, UPMC Presbyterian, and Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Shogan serves as Chairman of the Board for D3 Advanced Radiation Planning Services and is a member of the Pittsburgh Clinical Research Network (PCRN) Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Shogan is affiliated with a number of professional associations, including American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Allegheny County Medical Society. He has had articles published in numerous major medical journals.
