Patient Education Program

Patient Education at UPMC Cancer Centers focuses on providing cancer education programs for cancer patients, their families and the general public.

The Patient / Family Education Center at Hillman Cancer Center's Gumberg Family Library, houses a collection of cancer-related educational materials that can be used to reinforce and supplement information provided to patients by their health care team. In addition, general resources about cancer and cancer treatment, coping and stress management, child and family concerns, nutrition, personal appearance and grief and loss are available. Cancer information is available through other UPMC Cancer Centers locations.

Patient Education also organizes lectures, seminars and events for patients and the general public on many cancer-related topics throughout the year.
