Cause-Related Marketing

Panera Bread's "Operation Dough-Nation" campaign,
running from April to July 2004, raised $12,000 for
A Reason to Hope Cancer Fund

Panera Bread - Operation Dough-Nation®

Panera Bread, owned by Covelli Enterprises, has partnered with UPMC Cancer Centers and University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute to raise money for the "A Reason to Hope" Cancer Fund. The funds raised will benefit cancer research and patient care.

The campaign ran from April 5-July 31, 2004 with 23 Panera Bread locations throughout the region to help fight cancer. Leah Broudy, Pittsburgh Public Relations/Marketing Director for Panera Bread says, "We believe that the universal spirit of bread is sharing. As part of that philosophy of sharing, we strive to be a good neighbor and give back to the community through our Operation Dough-Nation program."
