THE 2007 HILLMAN CANCER CENTER GALA: “DESTINATION HOPE …A FUTURE WITHOUT CANCER”

• The gala took place on October 4, 2007 at the FBO Aviation Center in Coraopolis.
• Susan and Michael Boyle and Bonnie and Tom VanKirk were the Co-Chairs of the gala.
• PNC and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are the two presenting sponsors.
• A maximum of 800 guests attended the gala.
• An inspirational evening focused on cancer prevention and featured programs such as the Cancer Nutrition Program and the Center for Environmental Oncology, as well as remarkable individuals, including patients.
• This event came at a critical period in our organization's history, as we are in the midst of a five-year, $200 million capital campaign to support our vision to increase our international preeminence in patient care, teaching, research, diagnosis, early detection, and prevention - thereby having a major impact in the battle against cancer. We are at a critical moment and our goal is to intensify our efforts and invest additional resources to realize this vision, bringing maximum impact. The gala played an important role during our campaign.
