The monies raised fund the efforts of John M. Kirkwood, MD, Director of the UPCI Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program. The fund both supports Dr. Kirkwood's current research projects and allows him to expand and strengthen the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program by recruiting new personnel and securing necessary laboratory equipment.

- Grant Channell died in 1994 at the young age of 27 from malignant melanoma. He will always be remembered by family and friends for his good nature, sincerity, and, of course, his love for the game of golf.
