UPMC Cancer Centers Presents "A Reason to Hope: New Advances in the Surgical and Medical Treatment of Breast Cancer"
PITTSBURGH, March 2 – According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second leading type of cancer diagnosed in women in the United States. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.
To provide more information about breast cancer, UPMC Cancer Centers will sponsor "A Reason to Hope: Advances in Surgical Treatment of Breast Cancer," from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, at the UPMC Cancer Center, Natrona Heights located at 1604 Burtner Road.
Gretchen Ahrendt, MD, director of surgical breast services in the division of surgical oncology at Magee-Womens Hospital will be the featured speaker.
The talk is one in a series of cancer lectures sponsored by UPMC Cancer Centers for patients, their families and the public.
