UPMC Cancer Centers Presents, "A Reason to Hope: New Advances in the Treatment of Prostate Cancer"


PITTSBURGH, April 25 – Prostate cancer, the second most common form of cancer diagnosed in men other than skin cancer, affects one in six men in the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that over 230,000 cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2006.

To provide more information on treatment for prostate cancer, the Arnold Palmer Pavilion, a joint venture of UPMC Cancer Centers and Excela Health, will sponsor, "A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Prostate Cancer," from 6 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, May 4, in the Highlands Room at the Mountain View Inn, Greensburg.

Sanjeev Bahri, MD, assistant professor of radiation oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the medical director of radiation oncology at the Arnold Palmer Pavilion will present the lecture.

The talk is one in a series of cancer lectures sponsored by UPMC Cancer Centers for patients, families and the public.
