UPMC Cancer Centers Presents “A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Oral and Head and Neck Cancers”, July 20
PITTSBURGH, July 7 – This year, over 55,000 Americans will be diagnosed with cancers of the head and neck, and over 30,000 will be diagnosed with oral cancer. Most cases of head and neck and oral cancers can be easily detected at an early stage, making them easy to treat and cure.
To provide more information on oral and head and neck cancers, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Cancer Centers presents, &ldquot;A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Oral and Head and Neck Cancers,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 20, in the William Cooper Pavilion Classrooms, ground floor, Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave., Shadyside.
Athanassios Argiris, MD, associate professor of medicine in the division of hematology and oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and co-director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI), will present the lecture.
The talk is one in a series of cancer lectures sponsored by UPMC Cancer Centers for patients, their families and the public.
