UPMC Cancer Centers Presents, ‘A Reason To Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Skin Cancer’

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 27 – Skin cancer comprises about half of all cancers and affects more people than any other form of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Since the widespread disease varies in severity and in treatment possibilities, patients and their families can benefit from having the right information.

To provide the latest information about skin cancer treatment, UPMC Cancer Centers will sponsor, “A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Skin Cancer,” which will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Crown Ball Room at the Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown, 250 Market St., Johnstown, Pa (view location on a map). This event is part of a series of cancer lectures.

Presented by Claude Harmon, MD, PhD, a radiation oncologist at the John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center, the talk welcomes patients, their families and the public.

This event is free and open to the public, and free parking is available. Registration is required as seating is limited. Refreshments will be served. For further questions or to register, please call 1-800-533-UPMC (8762), option 1.
