UPMC Cancer Centers Presents, ‘A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer’

WINTERSVILLE, Ohio, Oct. 24 – Colorectal cancer results in nearly 60,000 deaths each year and is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. Fortunately, however, the death rate from colorectal cancer has been dropping due to advances in both screening and treatment.

To provide the latest information for both patients and their families about colorectal cancer treatment, UPMC Cancer Centers will sponsor, “A Reason to Hope: Advances in the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer,” which will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, Ohio, located at 286 Luray Drive (view on a map). This event is part of a series of cancer lectures.

Presented by Daniel P. Petro, MD, from the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and the hematology and oncology division at UPMC Cancer Centers, Steubenville, the talk welcomes patients, their families and the public.

This event is free and open to the public, and free parking is available. Registration is required as seating is limited. Refreshments will be served. For further questions or to register, please call 1-800-533-UPMC (8762), option 1.
