Annual Pittsburgh Cancer Conference Welcomes Richard Payne, MD, Expert in End of Life Care
PITTSBURGH, October 29, 2007 – Richard Payne, MD, director of the Institute on Care at the End of Life at Duke University, will be the keynote speaker at the annual Pittsburgh Cancer Conference, 8 am to 4 pm, Friday, Nov. 2, at the Herberman Conference Center, 5150 Centre Ave., Shadyside.
Dr. Payne, scheduled to speak at 1 p.m., is an expert in medical, spiritual and policy issues related to care of the seriously ill and dying. During his keynote, Dr. Payne will address the ethical issues faced by both patients and caregivers in end of life situations in his talk entitled, “End of Life Care in Diverse Populations.”
