Surgical Oncology
Dr. Christie is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UPMC Cancer Center. His clinical interests include all aspects of general thoracic surgery including benign and malignant esophageal disorders, lung cancer and mediastinal disease. Dr. Christie's research interests include minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant esophageal disorders, thoracoscopic surgery and organ preservation for lung transplantation.
Dr. Christie studied medicine at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1987. He completed his general surgery at the University of Toronto and is Board Certified in general surgery. Prior to joining UPMC, Dr. Christie completed his residency training in cardiothoracic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH.
