Surgical Oncology
Dr. Robert P. Edwards graduated from The University of Pittsburgh Medical School in 1984. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he completed his gynecologic oncology fellowship in 1993.
Dr. Edwards' research interests include cervical and ovarian malignancies, cancer vaccines and immunotherapy. He serves as principal investigator for the Gynecologic Oncology Group and for a number of pharmaceutical industry-sponsored studies. He also serves on the National Gynecologic Phase I Trial Committee which experiments with novel therapeutic approaches to gynecologic malignancies, as well as translational research.
Dr. Edwards treats all gynecologic cancers, including cervical, endometrial, vaginal, vulvar, and ovarian.
