Radiation Oncology
Dr. Poltinnikov is a radiation oncologist, specializing in innovative treatments for many types of cancer including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiotherapy and 4-D Radiotherapy, and Prostate Brachytherapy. He is board certified in Radiation Oncology by the Americal Board of Radiology.
A member of numerous prestigious medical societies (including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research), Dr. Poltinnikov has been honored for his excellence in research during his residency. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2001, followed by a internship at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a residency in Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He has been with UPMC since 2006.
