Surgical Oncology
Dr. Ronald R. Johnson graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Scranton with his B.S. in Biology and continued on to the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated Cum Laude with his MD in Medicine in 1983. For the past 15 years he has been a staff member of Magee Womens Hospital and currently serves as Co-Director of the Combined Breast Program of Magee Womens Hospital/ Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Breast Committee of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Project, local Principal Investigator for the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, and is active in the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He serves as the CME Director for Breast Cancer Education and has been active in training surgeons in new breast technology both regionally and nationally. Dr. Johnson's publications include peer reviewed journals, invited articles, monographs, and book chapters. His current research interests are focused on patient education, minimally invasive technology, and neoadjuvant therapy of breast cancer.
