Accident and Liability Coverage
While performing their duties, volunteers are covered by UPMC's accident and liability insurance.

Activity Discounts
Volunteers are entitled to discounts offered to UPMC staff. Discounts include savings on entertainment and local services.

Meals
To be eligible for a meal ticket, volunteers must donate a minimum of four hours or service in one day. Volunteers are entitled to one meal ticket for their personal use on the day they volunteer.

Parking
Volunteer & Community Services offers parking validation on days of volunteer service, interview, orientation and training. Volunteers may park in UPMC Shadyside's Medical Center Garage and Visitor's Garage (hours listed below). Please note: parking in Hillman Cancer Center is for patients ONLY.

Pharmacy Discounts
Volunteers are entitled to discounts on over-the-counter medications purchased from UPMC pharmacies.

Flu Shots
Flu vaccinations are available free of charge for volunteers.

Reference Letter
Upon request, a formal letter will be prepared for educational or professional purposes documenting the number of volunteer hours served.

Shuttle Service
Volunteers may use the UPMC shuttle service to travel to and from their volunteer sites.

Volunteer Recognition
Volunteers are honored at a recognition luncheon held each spring.
